Fish Clips Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Fish Clips ("Fish Clips," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website, join our waitlist, or use the Fish Clips mobile app and related services (together, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Terms of Service also apply to the app.
1. Who we are
Fish Clips is a creator program based in the United States. We operate a website waitlist and a mobile app where eligible users can record fishing catch clips, submit them for review, and, if approved, receive pay under our Terms.
Contact: legal@fishclipsapp.com
2. Information we collect
We collect information you give us, information created when you use the Service, and information from third parties that help us run it.
Waitlist and website
- Email address, if you join the waitlist.
- Basic technical data from your browser, such as IP address, device type, and pages viewed, as collected by our hosting and security providers.
Account and identity
- Sign-in is through Google. We receive identifiers and profile details Google provides for authentication (typically name, email, and a unique Google user ID).
- Account activity tied to your Fish Clips account.
Clips and related content
- Video and audio you record or submit, including camera and microphone data while you record.
- Metadata needed to store, review, edit, and publish clips (for example, submission time, file info, and review status).
- Your name, handle, and likeness as they appear in a clip or your profile, as described in our Terms.
Payouts
- Venmo or Cash App handle, balance, payout history, and related payment status.
- Tax information or forms if we are required to collect them before paying you.
Device and app use
- Device and app data needed to run the Service, such as device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, and in-app events (for example, submissions and payout actions).
- Camera and microphone access are required to record. We use those sensors to capture your clip, not to listen or watch in the background after you stop recording.
We do not require you to provide information that is not needed to operate the Service. If you do not provide required information (such as a payout handle), some features, including payouts, will not work.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the website, waitlist, and app.
- Create and secure your account and communicate with you, including waitlist and service emails.
- Review, edit, store, and publish clips on Fish Clips brand accounts and in marketing, as described in our Terms.
- Calculate pay, send payouts, prevent fraud, and keep records.
- Enforce our Terms, protect the Service, and comply with law.
- Analyze usage in a limited way so we can fix bugs and improve the product.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information as described in Section 4 so we can run the Service.
4. How we share information
We share information with:
- Service providers that host data, send email, authenticate users (including Google), process payouts (including Venmo and Cash App), store files, and provide analytics or security. They may use information only to provide services to us, subject to their own terms and policies where they act as independent controllers (for example, Google sign-in or Venmo).
- Social platforms where we post edited clips, such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Posted clips and related profile details may be public on those platforms.
- Professional advisors such as lawyers, accountants, or insurers when needed.
- Authorities when we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or the Service.
- A buyer or successor if we merge, sell, or reorganize, in which case information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.
5. Public content
If we approve and post a clip, the edited video and associated name, handle, or likeness may be public on third-party platforms and on Fish Clips properties. Public posts are subject to those platforms' rules. We are not required to keep a posted clip online.
6. Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, including to operate the Service, complete payouts, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting duties.
We may delete declined clip files from storage. We may keep account, payout, and review records after you stop using the Service. If you ask us to delete personal information, we will do so where we are not required or permitted to keep it.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure. You are responsible for the Google account you use to sign in. Tell us at jayson@fishclipsapp.com if you think someone else has used your account.
8. Children
The Service is for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the Service, contact legal@fishclipsapp.com and we will take appropriate steps, including deleting the account where required.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete certain personal information.
- Ask for a copy of information we hold about you.
- Opt out of certain processing, including marketing emails (waitlist operational messages may still be sent until you leave the list).
- Appeal a denial of a privacy request, where the law provides that right.
To make a request, email legal@fishclipsapp.com. We may need to verify your identity (for example, through the email on your account). We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
You can stop using the app at any time. You can revoke camera or microphone permission in your device settings; recording will then be unavailable. You can disconnect Google access through your Google account settings.
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or a similar jurisdiction, we process personal information as needed to perform our contract with you, to pursue legitimate interests in running and protecting the Service, and to comply with law. You may have additional rights to object, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
California residents may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" as those terms are defined by California law. We do not sell personal information for money. If our use of advertising or analytics cookies on the website is treated as "sharing," you may request that we limit it by emailing legal@fishclipsapp.com.
10. Cookies and similar technology
Our website may use cookies or similar technology that are needed to run the site, remember your waitlist submission on this device, or protect against abuse. We do not currently use advertising cookies to track you across unrelated sites. You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect site function.
The mobile app does not rely on website cookies. It stores local data needed to keep you signed in and run the app.
11. International users
We are based in the United States. If you use the Service from another country, your information will be processed in the United States and in other places where our providers operate. Those places may have different data-protection laws than your home country.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy. We will post the updated Policy and change the effective date. Continued use of the Service after the update means you accept the revised Policy. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
